Marcia Harmon Rosenbusch (Ph.D., Iowa State University) is the Director of the National K-12 Foreign Language Resource Center at Iowa State University. Dr. Rosenbusch directs the elementary school foreign language teacher preparation program at ISU through a joint appointment in the Departments of Curriculum and Instruction and World Languages and Cultures. In 1996 she received the Florence Steiner Award for Leadership in Foreign Language Education, and in 2001, the Anthony Papalia Award for Excellence in Teacher Education.

 

 

Mack Shelley (mshelley@iastate.edu)

 

Mack Shelley (Ph.D., University of Wisconsin-Madison) is University Professor of Statistics, Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, and Political Science at Iowa State University. From 2003-2007, he served as Director of the Research Institute for Studies in Education (http://www.rise.hs.iastate.edu/) at Iowa State University. He has extensive experience in research design, data analysis, and evaluation, and has served as Principal Investigator, Co-Principal Investigator, and Consultant on a wide array of grants and contracts with federal, state, and local agencies, and foundations.

 

 

Vicki Gray (vgray@iastate.edu)

Vicki Gray is the Administrative Assistant for the National K-12 Foreign Language Resource Center.  She has worked at Iowa State University for 18 years and has been with the NFLRC since 2003.  Vicki is actively involved in supporting the many aspects of the TWI project.

 

 

 

 

Holly J. Kaptain (hkaptain@iastate.edu)

Holly Kaptain is a former elementary foreign language teacher who currently serves as the Two-Way Immersion Project Coordinator for the National K-12 Foreign Language Resource Center at Iowa State University. In that capacity, she coordinates teacher and administrator training in effective instruction for dual language programs and is responsible for developing curriculum, facilitating teacher training in the delivery of curriculum, and in researching and securing materials and resources for the Two-Way Immersion programs. Holly holds Master’s of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Administration at ISU.

 

 

Claudia Navarro (cnavarro@iastate.edu)

 

Claudia Navarro-Villarroel is a PhD student co-majoring in Statistics and Education (Research and Evaluation). She received Masters Degree in Statistics at the Universidad de Valparaíso, Chile (2001) and Master of Science Degree at Iowa State University (2008). She had been working since 1994 for the Department of Statistics in the Universidad de Valparaíso. She also worked as a graduate research assistant at the Research Institute for Studies in Education at Iowa State University (2006-2007). Currently, she is in charge of the experimental design, statistical data analysis, and evaluation of projects as a graduate research assistant at the National K-12 National Foreign Language Research Center at ISU.

Peifeng Zhang holds M.A. degrees in Mass Communication (University of Wisconsin -Superior) and Rhetoric, Composition and Professional Communication (Iowa State University). He is interested in second/foreign language acquisition and Chinese language education. He is currently enrolled in the Ph.D. program in Applied Linguistics and Technology at Iowa State University where he is a research assistant in the National Foreign Language Research Center (NFLRC) at ISU and the webmaster of the NFLRC and National Network for Early Language Learning (NNELL) homepages.
