The NFLRC collaborated with the Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL), Washington D.C., and the Northeast and Islands Regional Educational Laboratory at Brown University to examine how foreign language instructional videos are being used as a supplement or alternative to traditional foreign language instruction for elementary school students. The study examined the five most popular video-based language programs used in U.S. elementary schools today and evaluates their capacity to provide quality, state-of-the-art foreign language instruction.
